go to waste.
I started GSP because I kept watching good kids miss their shot. Not from lack of talent, but because nobody taught them to read the game or showed them the pathway. I break down their film like a pro coach would, teach them what to see, and walk the path with them.
My background is in the game itself. I came up through the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency and played for the Chicago Fire Reserves and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, with trials in Germany along the way. I helped coach at the Chicago Fire while I was on the Reserves, and coached at the Riverhounds too. Back home in Iowa, I founded HD Soccer Training, a private program where I helped players earn college spots, contacted academies for the few who were ready for trials, and I coach in the club game at CRSA Soccer Club. GSP is where all of that comes together.

What do you actually look at in the film?
Everything your player does with and without the ball. Positioning and body shape before the ball arrives, scanning and decision-making, how they fit the team's shape in attack, defense and transition, and technique under real game pressure. You get clips of the moments that matter, drawn on and explained, plus the few things to work on first.
What ages do you work with?
Any age. Younger players get feedback built around the habits that matter at their stage, like scanning, first touch and spacing. Older players get more tactical detail and what their position asks for at the next level. College Pathway recruiting support starts in eighth grade.
How much does it cost?
Every family gets pricing in writing in a personal follow-up after they reach out, along with exactly what is included. The evaluation is a one-time fee. Mentorship is one yearly fee, paid in full or in three monthly payments, and an evaluation in the last 30 days counts toward it. College Pathway is one program fee, paid in full or in three monthly payments, and includes the first year of mentorship. The intro call is free and there is no obligation.
What is your refund policy?
An evaluation is refundable until the film review starts. Mentorship is refundable until the first breakdown starts. After that, it is earned. The College Pathway deposit is non-refundable once work starts. You receive the full terms in writing before you pay anything.
How long does College Pathway last?
Recruiting support has no fixed length. It continues until your player signs with a college. The first 12 months include everything in mentorship, and after that families can keep the development work going year to year. Families can start as early as eighth grade, and starting earlier gives your player more time to develop and more options.
Do you work with boys and girls?
Yes. GSP works with players in both men's and women's soccer, at every level from club and high school to ECNL, GA and MLS NEXT.
What if my player is not ready for college recruiting yet?
That is common and nothing to worry about. Many families start with a standalone evaluation or mentorship to build the player's game first. We will tell you honestly where your player stands and what the right next step is.
Do you work with players outside the US?
Yes. Evaluations and mentorship work anywhere film can be shared, and College Pathway supports international players who want to play college soccer in the United States, including guidance on eligibility and the recruiting timeline.
My player is under 18. How does that work?
A parent or guardian completes the inquiry, books any calls and handles all communication and billing. We collect only what we need to coach your player well.
What film do you need, and how do I send it?
Recent full-game footage helps us understand decisions and positioning. Once you enroll, you upload through the GSP Film Room with the player's name, jersey number, shirt color and position. If Veo, Baller Cam, Hudl or another platform only gives a viewing link, we will help you export a video file.
How many games can we send in mentorship?
Send as many games as you play. Mentorship includes 12 game breakdowns over the year, up to 3 in any month, and each breakdown can pull from up to 3 games. Most families use them during the fall and spring seasons. You also get 2 quick clip reviews a month for a single moment you want explained. Need more? Extra breakdowns are available.
What about winter and summer, when there are no games?
Your player gets an off-season plan built from what we saw in their season. You can also use up to 2 of your breakdowns on training footage, so the work keeps going between seasons.
Can you get my player a pro trial?
That's not what GSP is for, and I won't promise it. A small number of players I've worked with earned trials with pro academies, and I helped make those connections when they were truly ready. That is rare. GSP is about helping your player understand the game and reach the level that fits them, whether that is a better club team, high school varsity or college.
Do you talk to college coaches for us?
In College Pathway, yes. Along with helping your family with outreach, I talk with college coaches directly about your player when the fit is right. Players still earn the offer. My job is to make sure the right coaches see them.
Do you guarantee a college placement?
No, and be careful with anyone who does. Players earn their pathway. What we promise is an honest evaluation, real work and a plan matched to the level your player can actually reach.
